Deon Stander is the president and chief operating officer for Avery Dennison Corporation. He was appointed to this position on March 1, 2022, after serving as vice president and general manager, Retail Branding and Information Solutions (RBIS) since 2015.
In his role, Mr. Stander is responsible for the company’s global business operations, with all business unit leaders reporting to him. Additionally, Mr. Stander leads sustainability for Avery Dennison, partnering with leaders across the business to drive efforts toward achieving the company’s long-term sustainability goals.
Prior to becoming vice president and general manager, RBIS, Mr. Stander served from 2013 to 2014 as vice president and general manager, Global Commercial and Innovation, RBIS. Prior to 2013, he held several senior leadership roles across Avery Dennison RBIS, dating back to 2005.
Mr. Stander joined Avery Dennison from Paxar in 2007 as general manager, UK, Nordic and South Africa. Mr. Stander earned an MBA from Lancaster University, UK and Bachelor of Commerce in Business from the University of Port Elizabeth.
